Everyone’s life has meaning, but identifying your true self allows you to live your life with intention and make the best choices that serve your objectives. However, it may be this simple: our true purpose is to love and be loved.
Many people wander around, worrying about what their true calling is and if they are closer to identifying it or achieving it. What if your true purpose is to lovingly exist, to receive and give love? It may not be quite as complicated as we are making it.
For the most part, we are not born consciously knowing what our purpose is. It is through exploring, learning and growing that we focus with greater clarity. While purpose gives our life meaning, living with intention and allowing yourself to explore, embrace life and grow is where the true evolution begins. Get to understand yourself, identify the true you to begin living who you are.
No one can tell you what your purpose is, it is as unique as you and will evolve and possibly change as you experience and move through life. Sometimes finding and fulfilling your purpose can be a lifelong endeavor.
To start the process, ask yourself, “What am I passionate about? What gives me joy? What might I like to do or be involved with or in? ” In creating an abundant life, visualization, both mentally and physically can be helpful. Close your eyes and in your mind’s eye see how you would like your life to look. It may also be helpful to create a vision board. Cut out, copy or paste pictures that inspire you, spark your imagination, or excite and satisfy you. These ways of thinking will encourage every action you take to have meaning. You will see as you go that as you achieve one action, others may come into sight. You will grow as you go in life!
“I know my purpose and life life joyfully, growing as I go!”
How can you start today to identify what you are passionate about to get closer to your life’s purpose?
God gave each of us unique and different gifts. Are you living up to your potential by using yours?
Have you thought about your destiny or purpose here? We are not created just to exist. We are created to excel to our fullest potential. Are you sharing your gifts and talents and living to your highest possibility or destiny, or have you made excuses, settled for less, accepted defeat, dysfunction or mediocrity?
The time has come for you to make no more excuses. God created you to break through the barriers and live a life of possibility. You have a choice. This is your life, not a dress rehearsal, and you may not get another chance. Now is the best time to take action. Although the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today. Decide you are going to fulfill your destiny by identifying what gifts or talents you’d like to share with the world today, and take action to begin. After all, the Grand Canyon was formed years after a series of small drips, not in one day with a giant flood. Take that first drip/step today to create a possibility life and fulfill your destiny. Expect God’s favor, blessings, goodness, abundance and it will come but it’s up to you to take the first step in taking action.
How can you let go of the past, and the story you tell that goes along with it? I’m sure you have heard the quote, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present. (Bill Keane)” But have you ever really thought about the meaning of that?
Perhaps the best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. No more stories about how this or that affected your ability to be where you are today, or making excuses for why you didn’t get further this far in life. Start looking at today in your life as a gift, an amazing journey whose quality you alone are responsible for. The day you decide your life is your own is truly the day your life really begins. This is a truly empowering feeling.
Do your best, maybe not to completely forget the past (for we must realize our mistakes to learn from them), but instead to look ahead with hope and excitement of what you can create today. Let the past go, forgive your mistakes and the mistakes of others, and you will soon feel a lightness, a freeness to move forward with joy and excitement for the creation of your future.
Just because you may have had a rough start doesn’t have to mean you have to have a rough finish: YOU can affect that! So, in essence, you really DECIDE how you want your future to be!
And, taking it one step further, since you get what you give, why not try giving out joy and seeing if you don’t get more joy back! If you are carrying bitterness that may be what you are giving out and likely what you will get back. If you really want to get happier, try giving out some happiness!
I know some days it may be harder than others, and you just feel like quitting. That’s ok, we all have them. Rest your weary body, mind and soul, and then just keep moving forward, for tomorrow brings the chance for hope that the best days are ahead of us!
