As I was struggling through life, repeatedly sabotaging myself, I came across a memorable quote from Marianne Williamson, which hit me so hard it almost knocked me over. Instead, I think it may have knocked me into a higher state of “me” and allowed me to begin to shine:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne was a delight to spend time with. She is a truly amazing spiritual teacher (based on A Course in Miracles), author and lecturer, and recent Congressional candidate. She’s published four New York Times #1 bestsellers, at last count. She serves homebound people with AIDS through a meals-on-wheels program that she is the founder of called Project Angel Food, and the co-founder of The Peace Alliance, a grass roots campaign supporting legislation to establish a United States Department of Peace. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors of the RESULTS organization, working to end poverty in the United States and around the world, and the force behind Sister Giant, a series of seminars and teaching sessions that provides women with the information and tools needed to be political candidates. She’s been on many television programs, including Oprah, Larry King Live, Good Morning America and Charlie Rose. In December 2006, a Newsweek magazine poll named her one of the fifty most influential baby boomers, and we can easily see why.
Truly, though, it is her powerful words that really resonate to our core. The line from the above quote that really literally hit with me was, “There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine.” When I first read that, I was almost embarrassed and felt that it was written about me. I had always tried to do what was for the highest good of everyone else, but I wasn’t doing what was for the highest good of everyone, which included me. While being so focused on making everyone else feel good, I wasn’t doing the same for myself. I thought I was lifting others up by putting myself down. I realized no good could come from that. Hold others and yourself in the highest regard. We are all equal.
So that was it. Externally, I wanted to be successful; internally, I didn’t really believe I deserved it. It was time to fix that. I realized that I had to love myself first.
The “how” may not have been identified, but once I consciously and subconsciously made the decision to release the limiting thoughts, love myself, and be successful, the abundance and ideas came.
You too can consciously manifest the world you want to have in all areas of your life: personally, professionally, spiritually, and physically. Recognize that in order to obtain success professionally, you must first look within yourself and find happiness. That’s where the answers are.
God created us and is in each of us; therefore, if God is within you doesn’t that mean you have immeasurable value? Recognize the beauty within yourself and within everyone else. Happiness is wherever you are at the time. Focusing on the present moment will ultimately bring you the most peace. By forgiving yourself and others is when you will feel true inner peace. Then strategy, mentors, success, and abundance will come, as it has for me. The pieces will fall into place, the ideas will come and the plan will present itself. Are you ready to receive it?
If so, let me share a simple process to help you manifest the true you. Check out the Conscious Manifestor App at www.ConsciousManifestor.com to give yourself abundance at the tap of a finger, and discover 33 ways to manifest your dreams.
