If you could meet ANYONE alive in the world today, who would it be? OPRAH was on my list and guess who just met her!!
Imagine having cocktails and personally meeting someone you have always wanted to meet and have great respect for….that’s what happened to me with OPRAH WINFREY!!!!
Oprah was here in Miami, FL for her the Life You Want Tour and I had the great privilege to meet her personally and spend time with her. Oprah said, “Every one of us is looking for the same thing–we want to know we matter.” In spite of how busy she is, that’s exactly how Oprah made me feel when we met. She’s an incredible individual who hugged me like we were old friends, even though we were meeting for the first time. She looked into my eyes and listened to what I had to share. She made me feel like I mattered to her. I found her to be inspiring, motivational and authentic.
During the Tour, Oprah talked about the things that matter in life…things like joy, resilience, connection and gratitude. She encouraged everyone to expand on what is possible and fulfill our greatest potential. She shared a personal story about being raised on a farm by her grandmother for the first six years of her life. She was standing on the back porch, and her grandmother was boiling clothes in a big iron, since they didn’t have washing machines. Her grandmother said, “I hope you get to work for such nice people as I do.” Because Oprah had the courage to follow her dreams, now she has a large number of people who work for her!
Oprah shared with me, “The only courage you ever need is the courage to live the life of your dreams.” It appears that I already am!
